Position: Commercial Product Management Leader | Division: Consumer Banking Management|


Work Days: Monday - Friday| Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Purpose of the Position:

Collaborate with key executives and business partners across a matrixed organizational structure to provide product management leadership and direction for all Commercial banking products and services inclusive of Treasury Services and Small Business. Work with the various bank teams to develop experiences that transcends all customer interfaces including financial centers, phone, and digital (mobile and online). Responsible for understanding the key drivers to increase the lines of business overall profitability. Aligns closely with Marketing & Communications, Sales Leaders, Information Technology, Innovation and Transformation teams to develop a strategic vision and ownership of commercial and treasury products and services, customer growth, and an exceptional experience through an omni-channel environment. Directs and oversees the comprehensive product management framework to support the applicable lines of business strategic objectives, while supporting the bank's overall strategic growth. Maintains an overall understanding of the commercial banking market and competitors to ensure Broadway's products and services remain attractive, competitive, and profitable.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serves as the product manager for the Commercial Line of Business including Treasury Services.
  • Partner with the EVP LOB leader and commercial sales leaders to achieve the profitability and growth, utilization, and retention goals annually.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met in any product, service or marketing initiative.
  • Understands the competitive landscape and commercial products and services offered in the market. Ensure Broadway Bank provides the products services that best meet the needs of its commercial business customers, while aligning with the strategic growth of the bank. Provide an annual update of the competition, their products and services, and any innovations to senior management for their awareness and new revenue/expense savings opportunities.
  • In conjunction with Commercial leadership, leads the development of key market commercial segmentations and prioritizations based on Broadway's customer growth strategy and preferred market differentiation. Monitors market trends and provides pricing recommendations and product changes for Treasury Services. Provides oversight, interpretation, and application of all product and market analyses and reports.
  • Aligns closely with Marketing and Communication to develop an ongoing marketing plan to achieve growth targets and increased customer penetration, as well as lead generation for prospective customers.
  • Provides strategic direction regarding customer needs and objectives and Broadway Bank's differentiation in the marketplace.
  • Works closely with the credit, operations, bank LOB leaders, Sales Enablement and other support teams to create a superior and holistic customer service experience; thereby strengthening relationships with Broadway and increasing acquisition, utilization, and retention across targeted demographics and markets.
  • Provides leadership to strategic initiatives across all commercial products and services in direct support of the EVP Commercial Line of Business leader. Collaborate with business partners to ensure tools, applications, products, services and other features are available for customers and new capabilities are prioritized with other bank efforts. Ensures regulatory, compliance, and audit responsibilities are met.
  • Partners with all support teams to ensure timely delivery of new and existing commercial products, services, features, and delivery platforms (i.e., Loan Origination System, CRM).
  • Brings forth well thought out recommendations to introduce new products and services, improve processes, expand channel usage including channel migration strategies where available to improve efficiency, and reduce expenses. Recommendations will include thorough analysis (financial and others) and the appropriate due diligence to the applicable committees or process (Responsible Innovation Committee governance, etc.).
  • Provides analytical trending and modeling support for small business and other credit risk activities as needed.
  • Develops product features by collaborating with technology, digital, design, and subject matter experts across IT, Innovation and Transformation, Operations, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, and other applicable areas.
  • Ensure that recommendations are driven through to implementation, by providing thought leadership and, when necessary, stepping in to lead execution.
  • Responsible for understanding and analyzing the suite of services for Treasury, as well as the overall profitability, and working in conjunction with sales leaders and the LOB leader to make actionable recommendations to improve the growth and deepening of the suite of services.
  • Responsible for managing the relationships associated with products and services, such as Purchase Card, Credit Card, and others to drive increase revenues.
  • Coordinates budget, planning, and sales reporting/tracking of all commercial products, services, and initiatives.
  • Develops and implements analytical frameworks to monitor key performance indicators and quantify and optimize the concrete impact the bank's initiatives are having on key business results.
  • In support of Commercial leadership, helps to conduct regular market and competitive analysis to determine new capabilities and innovations. Assess and recommend capabilities and innovation applicable to the specific bank segments and customers, as well as those intended to drive greater adoption, scale, and efficiencies.
  • Package strategic and analytical insights into clear, concise and "executive-ready" presentations for senior leadership and the board of directors. Provide updates as requested.
  • Responsible for communication with the Board of Directors, executive management, line of business leadership, Sales and Service, iNext, and other support teams regarding commercial products and services.
  • Serves on the Product Pricing Committee and regularly provides updates regarding the commercial banking products and services.
  • Serves as primary contact and business owner for relevant third party vendors and partners.
  • Participates in special projects as requested by the Board of Directors and senior management.
  • May manage a small team of professionals to achieve the goals and targets for Commercial Banking, while working closely with Private Banking and Wealth Management regarding their goals and targets. Align goals and targets with the overall strategic plan of the bank.

Competencies and Skills:

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 7+ years senior-level experience in commercial banking product management and/or development.
  • Commercial branch banking and digital treasury services experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong solution-oriented business acumen, strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated success in growing a commercial banking business.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of platform delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of deposit and loan operations are preferred.
  • Knowledge of relationship management software.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable deposit related regulations and compliance requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or related field required, MBA preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience interfacing with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience with Fiserv commercial and treasury solutions preferred
  • AAP, CTP, or other relevant certifications preferred
  • Experience with Precision Lender and Abrigo solutions preferred
  • Experience with EnAct/EnterAct preferred
