What You Will Do:

The Region VP of the West Region at Johnson Controls drives the strategic direction and execution of the $1.3B field business in the US. This role translates and operationalizes the BSNA JCI vision and strategy aligned to JCI's cultural and operating values. The Region VP West drives full P&L responsibility across all HVAC/controls, Fire and Security domains and functions with accountability to meet/exceed safety, people, growth, business performance and cash targets KPIs. Works with region, business, and enterprise leadership to ensure predictable and high-quality standards of service that set Johnson Controls apart from the competition. Sets the standard for professionalism within the operations and sales teams as well as builds and sustains a high-performing culture. This position reports to the President Building Solutions North America for Johnson Controls (JCI officer). Key direct reports include:

  • Regional Sales Leader - Responsible for driving sales across the Region direct market. Accountable for HVAC, Fire and Security product and solution sales as well as recurring revenue service sales for both Johnson Controls and non-Johnson Controls.

  • Regional Operations Leader - Responsible for driving operational excellence across the Region and is accountable for the delivery of HVAC, Fire and Security installation and service outcomes that drive both top line growth and margin expansion.

  • Market General Managers - Responsible for executing the vision and strategy in local markets and aligns our cultural and operating values to strategy.

  • Through functional leaders:

    • Director Finance

    • Director HR

    • Legal Counsel

    • Communications Manager

    • Safety Manager

How You Will Do It:

Key goals for role:

Drive secured volume growth: Achieve aggressive top line secured volume, secured margin and price through over 1,400 sellers in field organization, with particular focus on recurring service and digital solutions.

Deliver executed revenue and margin: Achieve above market executed revenue and margin and price through over 5,000 direct field technicians, project managers and engineers in field organization, with particular focus on recurring service and digital solutions.

Deliver EBIT: Achieve EBIT through product, service and solution mix, price, and margin.

Product strategy and M&A: Drive market back product and service offering solution management with President Global Products, Fire Detection and Suppression Product Business Unit Leader and President Global Service.

Safety: Ensure all Fire employees are safe in performing role.

Build world class teams and leaders: Ensure effective leadership talent to drive aggressive financial growth targets. Shift direct field labor work force strategy and plans to respond to regulated Fire market and tight supply challenges across nearly 5,000 direct field technicians. Cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture to achieve women and minority goals. Build organization health to improve 10 points in organizational health survey year over year.

Deliver price objectives, driving gross margin: Implement strategic pricing and change order strategies to achieve margin rate plans and pricing targets with strategic focus based on supply chain challenges.

Deliver cash targets: Simplify contract management, risk mitigation review and order to cash processes to achieve improvement in AR over 90, inventory turn and dispute resolution.
