BASIC PURPOSE

The Events & Rentals Sales Manager is responsible for booking Kroc Center events, promotions, and rentals. These activities must raise the profile of the Kroc Center within Solano County and generate significant net revenue. This individual must identify and cultivate new clients as well as service existing clientele. In addition, the Events & Rentals Sales Manager will oversee and ensure the planning and organizing of all events such that the client expectations are met in a cost-effective, mission consistent manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Generate new Kroc Center events, promotions, and rentals.
    • Seek out new and established relationships in the area in support of the overall mission to develop and maintain business.
    • Work directly and cooperatively with Kroc Center leadership in development and updating of events, promotions, and rental guides for the facility, including birthday party packages, youth graduations, performing arts rentals, gymnasium rentals, and promotions.
  2. Service existing events and rental clients to assure consistent future return bookings.
  3. Oversee financial performance and reporting for the Events & Rentals department.
    • Work directly with the Center Director to establish a fiscal budget to include forecasting sales goals, expenditures, and profitability.
    • Set targets to achieve or exceed revenue forecasts.
    • Review pricing structure to include up-charges and scheduling philosophy of major events in the facility with the Center Director.
    • Track payments and prepare accurate sales reports.
  4. Oversee, track, and evaluate all department operational and administrative activities.
    • Schedule rentals, birthday parties, corporate events, and other meetings/events to meet sales goals.
    • Oversee event database, promote event/rental sales and inquiries, and develop regular reporting of revenue and costs associated with the rental and events program.
    • Evaluate events for effectiveness to include financial objectives.
    • Develop a process to gather client satisfaction ratings regarding events and report outcomes.
  5. Work in direct collaboration with the Marketing Department to enhance on-line presence, ie. META, Google ads and other social media platforms and coordinate event signage.
  6. Oversee event and rental execution.
    • Facilitate, receive, and process requests for rentals and events. This includes working directly with internal and external customers, reviewing requests to determine compatibility with TSA guidelines and mission, checking the calendar for available dates, recommending for approval/denial.
    • Prepare event proposal packets for Corps Officers and Center Director approval.
    • Manage contracts from the initial inquiry to the proposal, and to the final contract for each event. Follow up for future events.
    • Meet regularly with the Center Director, Building Operations Manager, and Marketing Manager to discuss shared facility source, events setup, and marketing strategies.
    • Train and evaluate part-time staff for events and rentals. This includes monthly in-service training, performance reviews, and providing continual education.
    • Communicate event needs with all department managers to ensure all staffing and necessary equipment are available for the event.
  7. Miscellaneous Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with the Membership Manager and Membership Lead to develop tours of the building and proper procedures for rentals and events.
    • Interact professionally with individuals and corporate representatives from diverse backgrounds.
    • Be present for events as appropriate for client service and as determined by the Center Director.
    • Process incident and accident reports for events as required.
    • Provide direction to the Events staff for set up and take down of events.
    • Order supplies as needed for event operations.
    • Will be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and extended hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  2. Must be 21 years of age of age.
  3. Three to five years of experience in promotions, sales, facility rentals, and/or marketing.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Supervisory experience preferred including skills in problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the public.
  6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  7. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem-solving and the ability to provide conflict resolution with event participants in a positive manner.
  8. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, renting facilities and purchasing services.
  9. Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability and desire to take projects from beginning through completion.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  1. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver's License, and the ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
  2. Must be 21 years or older.
  3. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  2. Capable of regularly lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.
  3. Able to operate a computer and access information from the computer.
