Job Description Summary

The Department Coordinator for the Waino Wahtera Center for Student Success supports both professional and student staff by managing the daily operations of the Wahtera Center and Student Disability Services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

* Track and maintain financial reports for the Wahtera Center, Orientation, Family Weekend, and Student Disability Services
* Manage office equipment and coordinate maintenance and upgrades as necessary
* Lead assessment initiatives pertaining to efforts in the Wahtera Center and Student Disability Services (Orientation programming, disability cases, academic outreach, etc) in corresponding platforms
* Facilitate mass communications (surveys, emails, notifications) from the Wahtera Center and Student Disability Services, and follow up with stakeholders as necessary
* Compile and review data collected through mass communications from the Wahtera Center and Student Disability Services
* Serve as the web liaison; develop and maintain web pages for the Wahtera Center, Disability Services, Dean of Students and Student Affairs
* Oversee communication and collection of midterm grades each semester
* Oversee academic outreach for; appeal, reinstate, midterm grade, and other processes that highlight at risk students
* Serve on the Academic Intervention Team (AIT) and the Scholastic Standards Committee
* Assist with student outreach to specific populations and individual student interventions through one on one student meetings
* Coordinate student meetings with Student Success Coaches; rescheduling appointments, placement of students with coaches, scheduling of spaces for coaching appointments, etc
* Collaborate with staff to plan and execute Wahtera Center programs including orientation, Support Pack Weekend, and ExSEL
* Support Orientation professional and student staff; updating internal spreadsheets, processing orientation fees, assisting with questions from students and families
* Support UN class administrative needs; processing paperwork and tracking student registration
* Prepare Student Disability Services meetings for staff; create case management cases, upload documentation, schedule appointments, and follow up with students and families as necessary
* Support Student Disability Services staff by processing absence notifications, entering accommodations notices,
* Support the Wahtera Center Student Staff hiring and training processes
* Serve on the Student Affairs Student Training Committee
* Serve as the departmental Safety Liaison
* Serve as an active member of University, divisional and/or departmental committees and working groups.
* Work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours at certain times of the year based on the demands of the position.
* Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
* Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

* Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

* Two years experience in administrative roles
* Experience with budgets/financial reports
* Experience with supporting large scale events

Desirable Education and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree in related field

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

* Experience with Canvas or other learning management software.
* Experience with case management platforms
* Experience using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to communicate with students and other stakeholders.
* Experience with creating and maintaining web pages
