Job Description

Job Purpose

A Warehouse Lead Associate will support all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Team (SQDCT) of Shipping, Receiving, Replenishment, and Inventory areas from receipt of materials through the shipment of goods to the customer. The Warehouse Lead will lead, coach, and influence all direct employees affiliated within the Warehouse team. Warehouse Lead will interact with Value streams and their respective Leaders in carrying out duties and responsibilities. Warehouse Lead will Interface with Customer as needed. Warehouse lead is responsible for safely receiving and storing inbound raw materials. Dispersing raw materials to production areas in order to attain production goals. Responsible for accurately shipping finished goods on time to customers, maintaining inventory accuracy for company through monthly cycle counts, and reporting results to accounting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
  • Ensure proper completion and accuracy of shipments, receipts, replenishments, hardware kitting of materials, and cycle count documentation
  • Responsible for accuracy of delivery, preparation of materials, parts, and Kanban cards on designated replenishment routes at designated times
  • Work with VSLs, Team leads and Quality Leads with material flow between the stockroom, warehouse and the shop floor
  • Troubleshoot and assist in solving inventory issues; Halb/ ROH counts, min/ max materials, variance reports
  • Ensure batch/lot (FIFO & FEFO) on material being transacted
  • Perform all relevant SAP transactions, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot and assist in solving logistical problems utilizing root causes analysis tools as appropriate
  • Track daily / weekly metrics, give updates daily and identify problems.
  • Schedule Attainment with outside support operations, i.e. Customer Operations, Quality, Production, etc.)
  • Prepare outbound shipments and make necessary logistics arrangements
  • Loading and unloading freight vehicles with forklift and necessary material handling equipment as required
  • Write QNs as well as work with Engineers to clear parts from QN as needed.
  • Provide work direction to workers assigned to the various work areas, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain overtime coverage as approved
  • Coordinate and provide training of Team members
  • Contribute to process improvement and cost reduction initiatives in areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Team
  • Ensure Supplies needed are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored
  • Set-up and operate key equipment in work are. Help in establishing, implementing, and sustaining; TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
  • Provide input in quarterly review process
  • Follow Leader Standard Work
  • Lead daily Start-up Meeting
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed during: Safety Incidents, Evacuation, Inclement Weather
  • Observe Safety policies, programs and initiatives including work place organization
  • Ensure that all company and governmental policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the Warehouse work areas

  • Any other duties assigned

Qualifications/Characteristics

  • Good leadership skills - communication, coordination, recognition, coaching, accountability
  • Must be highly organized, with Good attention to detail, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to understand and follow training materials and work instructions.
  • High school/ Associates degree or equivalent experience. Experience may be substituted for education at management's discretion
  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Safely operate a forklift, reach truck lift, and other material handling equipment and be able to obtain certifications
  • Computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, SAP)
  • Complete IATA, IMG and ground Dangerous Goods certification as required
  • Basic knowledge of MSDS and their use.
  • Ability to communicate in English via written and spoken words
  • Proper use of safety and personal protective equipment
  • SAP Warehouse Management System experience preferred
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving/warehouse
