About the role

We are seeking for 2x Evaluation Principal Advisor(s) to join our dynamic Nuton team. In your role, you will spearhead comprehensive technical due diligence efforts, deciphering intricate data to ascertain Nuton's value proposition to our partners. This role demands exceptional project management abilities, technical acumen, and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, driving due diligence processes towards completion, while building Nuton's project portfolio.

Reporting to the Vice president of Sustainability, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading scoping studies for technical due diligence and identifying critical threats and opportunities.
  • Providing guidance on due diligence goals and scenarios to independent subject matter experts across various domains such as geology, mining, processing, health and safety, and environmental considerations.
  • Identifying avenues for optimization and offering direction for the due diligence process.
  • Analyzing technical fundamentals to assess risk areas and their potential impact on financial valuations.
  • Evaluating unique technical risks associated with potential partners and exploring synergies within Nuton's portfolio.
  • Collaborating with legal, commercial, and financial teams to integrate technical insights into commercial frameworks and propositions.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations on technical risks and their implications on project valuation.
  • Aiding in the formulation of investment strategies based on technical insights.
  • Staying informed about emerging trends and best practice on project valuation, including building environmental social and governance value drivers into standard financial modelling, to foster innovation.

What you'll bring

  • A steadfast commitment to safety for yourself and your team.
  • A bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining industry with time spent in various functions, including but not limited to operations, technical, operations, technical, project management, due diligence and studies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaborate seamlessly across diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with exploration prospects and the evaluation of mining assets.
  • Outstanding communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management and cross-functional collaboration with other teams.
