Position Title: Audio Video Specialist

Position Type: Full-time, On-site: Washington DC

Job Description: VersaTech, an AV Systems solution and support provider, is currently integrating new AV systems for a Federal Agency's new Headquarters location in Washington DC. The Office's conferencing and spaces that have AV includes systems ranging from small collaboration booths and office systems to large divisible conference spaces and Digital Signage.

The Audio-Visual Specialist will be responsible for providing on-site system(s) management and operational support services for the Agency's IT-centric audio/video and digital signage systems. This role will primarily focus on managing and maintaining all Federal Agency's conference rooms at Headquarters in Washington, DC, which are essential for internal and external meetings crucial to client's continuous and expanding mission, as well as hands-on support and execution of web-conferencing platforms for the end-users. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of Agency staff, including executive leadership, requiring a high level of professionalism and customer service. A core competency in relevant system components and integration is required, with Tier 3 support available via VersaTech programming and engineering resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain all Audio-Visual equipment, conducting daily checkups to ensure that all conference rooms are in working order. Perform monthly system patching and updates, as required, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure client's conference rooms operate efficiently and effectively, including overseeing administrative staff assigned to conference room scheduling and management, ensuring they are adequately trained.
  • Review, replace, or upgrade Audio/Video (A/V) equipment as needed to meet evolving requirements and technology standards; make recommendations for upgrades and enhancements to best serve the end-user and technology stack.
  • Assist users and provide counsel and support in making conference room reservations, scheduling, and usage/execution of meetings as needed, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
  • Provide timely resolution to customer issues related to audio-visual equipment or conference room usage, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain issue and resolution logs in for team awareness and/or system change considerations.
  • Serve as the Agency's Point of Contact for operation and maintenance of all installed AV devices.
  • Coordinate and work with any required site resources as it relates to programming & general maintenance and upgrade tasks.
  • Coordinate with VersaTech service and engineering teams to escalate issues specific to programming and installation of the current Hardware and Software within the conference areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in audio-visual engineering, service, maintenance or end-user support.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a federal or government environment.
  • Strong technical skills in audio-visual equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with connecting to IT-centric AV System devices for monitoring, troubleshooting, and/or configuration.
  • Experience with Crestron IP-based video and control platforms.
  • Web Conferencing platform familiarity (MS Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
  • Has a solid understanding of NDI-based video networks.
  • Digital Signage knowledge and experience in a cloud-based environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Audinate, Crestron certifications, or similar are preferred.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a public trust clearance.
