The Opportunity:

4 month internship - September - December, 2024

How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to Director, Data Engineering, in this internship, you will gain hands-on experience with the entire data science lifecycle, from data acquisition and cleaning to analysis and visualization. You will work alongside our team data analysts & data engineering helping solve enterprise problems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and data curation tasks.

  • Use Python and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.

  • Develop governance dashboards to help identify patterns and predictions.

  • Expand the patterns into a machine learning model

  • Communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.

  • Collaborate closely with other team members and stakeholders to optimize data-related procedures and improve system performance

The Must Haves:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field (data science preferred)

  • Strong programming skills in Python (or R)

  • Familiarity with data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn)

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • A passion for learning and a curiosity about data science

Assets:

  • Approach to solving problems, effective communication, and ownership.

  • Agile mindset and good understanding of MVP / iterative development is desired.
