SUMMARY:
The Administrative Officer for Program and Business Development is responsible for supporting the grants proposal development and submission process to U.S. government agencies, and other potential donors and funding sources. The Administrative Officer works closely with American Councils' Program and Business Development team to prepare, update, organize, and compile materials in support of project proposals. The Administrative Officer also conducts research to advance the proposal development process. The Administrative Officer reports to the Senior Director of Program and Business Development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, revise, and assemble primary and supporting materials for proposals.
* Conduct research and identify development funding opportunities in support of the organization's strategic goals.
* As needed, serve as assistant coordinator of the proposal design and creation process.
* Support other development staff engaged in proposal development.
* Assist in the final quality control review and approval of proposals and help ensure accuracy of proposal documents.
* Other relevant tasks, as requested.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or other relevant field preferred.
* Three years' administrative experience, preferably at a non-profit or education organization.
* Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and writing) that allow for effective collaboration and detailed follow through with program personnel.
* Ability to work independently as needed to complete assigned tasks within strict deadlines.
* Ability to understand the organization's programs, goals, and financial needs.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Sharp attention to detail.
* Demonstrated experience with MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva.
