Accounting Manager
CPA |Trust Accounting | Family Office

We are working with a family office in search of an Accounting Manager to join their team. This individual will provide management support, accounting, and tax services for partnerships and trusts. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with experience with trust accounting, partnerships, cash management, and tax.This is an on-site opportunity, with the office located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each trust account.
  • Handle deposits, withdrawals, and transfers within trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to trust agreements.
  • Generate financial reports for trustees and beneficiaries, summarizing account activity and investment performance for up to 80 distinct entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns for each family trust, including income tax, estate tax, and gift tax returns.
  • Conduct reconciliation of brokerage statements.
  • Post and reconcile K-1 forms.
  • Manage capital calls and distributions across multiple partnerships. This includes accurately recording and processing capital contributions from beneficiaries and distributions to beneficiaries according to trust and partnership agreements.
  • Facilitate payroll reporting.
  • Manage the issuance of W-2s for seasonal employees and 1099 forms for all entities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all tax returns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, trust accounting experience is required
  • CPA is highly preferred.
  • Asset management, insurance, or financial services industry experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated high degree of integrity and ethical character.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamically evolving environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting is advantageous.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
