Overview

The Division of Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic MedSpa is located near the Sentara Leigh Hospital in a brand-new office on the border of Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

This role is being established to play a lead role in the coordination of surgery scheduling activities for the three Facial Plastic Faculty members seeing patients out of that office location. The role will be accountable to the Nurse Manager for the Division and work collaboratively with all faculty members and team members to ensure a seamless and smooth surgery scheduling process for patients.

Responsibilities

Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between the dermatologist, MOHS surgeons, and facial plastic surgeons for surgical referrals.

Responsible for efficiently coordinating surgeries in a high-volume surgical practice.

Schedule surgeries, ensuring optimal utilization of surgical suites and resources.

Coordinate with patients, providing clear pre-operative instructions and addressing inquiries related to the referral process.

Collaborate with medical staff to gather and organize patient medical records, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation.

Manage the referral process from initiation to post operative follow up, ensuring timely and effective communication at each stage.

Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries.

Track and maintain accurate records of surgical schedules, ensuring alignment with practice protocols.

Assist in the development and implementation of efficient referral workflows to enhance practice productivity.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required to qualify for the position as is at least one (1) year of professional office/clerical experience required. Experience performing related functions in a medical practice is strongly preferred. Previous front desk customer service experience will be considered. Professional, customer service-oriented individual is required.
