Job Description

As a Senior Information Security Analyst, you are responsible for implementing effective cybersecurity measures, monitoring networks for vulnerabilities, and responding to security breaches.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Identifying and assessing the robustness of security systems and designs, as well as the specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses, to design countermeasures in response to these security threats.
  • Investigate new and evolving IT security issues using research and development centers, thought tanks, academic research, and industrial systems.
  • Contributes to the facilitation and assistance of agencies in identifying their current security infrastructure, the definition of future programs, and the design and implementation of security programs related to cloud computing environments.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing IT security measures.
  • Conducting risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in Army networks
  • Developing and implementing cybersecurity policies and protocols
  • Monitoring networks for intrusions and cyberattacks
  • Analyzing and responding to security breaches
  • Providing guidance and training to Army personnel on cybersecurity best practices

Location and Travel Details

This is a hybrid position, with 1-2 days onsite a week at one of the following locations:

  • Ft. Belvoir, VA
  • Adelphi, MD
  • Aberdeen, MD

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must possess an active Secret Clearance and maintain a Secret Clearance.


Profile of Success

  • BS/BA + 5 years or 8 years' experience with no degree
  • DoD experience
  • Advanced security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles and techniques
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex technical data
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • eMASS software experience
  • STIG compliance and ability to use tools like EvalSTIG or SCAP

Desirable Skills

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud technologies, mainly Azure
