Senior Purchasing Analyst

Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Analyze the supply chain utilizing internal data, develop and facilitate improvement plans to improve logistics operations, including capacity studies and equipment/resource utilization.
  2. Develop and suggest new and improved reporting tools to assist in further development of production logistics operation.
  3. Works closely with Finance, Controlling, and Accounts Payable departments on vendor invoice management topics
  4. Plan, initiate, and manage strategic purchasing development projects and ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope; while keeping management abreast of issues, pending problems, and operational or financial impacts.
  5. Lead and support the companies continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of a standardized process approach.
  6. Develop and implement solutions with focus on digitalization and improved techniques in line with company strategy
  7. Work closely with other teams to improve communication, efficiency, and throughput.
  8. Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to maintenance, repair and operational goods and services within RRPS global compliance policies
  9. Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance
  10. Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing, and contract related issues with suppliers
  11. Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers, especially for goods and services utilized at RRSA operational facilities in Aiken, SC and Mankato, MN.
  12. Analyze supplier cost/pricing information and benchmark the competition
  13. Manage purchase requisition queue, vendor invoice management queue
  14. Actively identify, drive, and support cost savings initiatives
  15. Support the implementation of a standardized process approach utilizing common forms, measurements, and structure
  16. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  17. Perform special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Finance, and 5 years of procurement, supply chain management, supplier cost analysis, or finance experience; or 9 years of procurement, supply chain management, supplier cost analysis, or finance experience
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience handling confidential sensitive matters with discretion
  3. Excellent negotiation skills
  4. Excellent financial/cost analysis and problem-solving skills when issues are very complex
  5. Strong working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  6. Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain and/or materials management processes
  7. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  8. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  10. Strong ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents
  11. Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction
  12. Ability to travel - domestic and international and work flexible hours
  13. Strong ability to learn commodity processes at supplier locations
  14. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Preferred:
  1. Experience in warehouse management.
  2. Inventory and ISO audit experience.
  3. Operational budgeting and financial monitoring experience.

Daily work is performed in an office and general manufacturing work environment. This position has a compressed work week schedule of Monday through Thursday 10-hour days. While performing tasks of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer inside the facility. Next, an employee will be occasionally required to encounter wet or humid conditions. Finally, this position occasionally requires the employee to be in contact with hazardous conditions.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, or reach within the facility. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to grasp items to carry that are 10-25 pounds once per day. Finally, the employee is occasionally required to push or pull items that are 10-25 pounds once per day.
Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the employee must have the ability to adjust focus.
