About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly experienced Solutions Architect to lead our IT Finance and R&D PPM Enterprise Solution initiatives. This individual will play a crucial role in designing and implementing comprehensive Oracle EPM and PPM solutions to meet BSC's financial and planning needs. The professional is responsible for comprehending business requirements, architecting solutions, and providing technical guidance throughout the implementation process.

The candidate should be an innovative thinker, technically adept, and a strategic problem-solver. The ideal candidate will have experience applying architectural concepts in an agile environment and the ability to understand business challenges, recommending best practices. They will collaborate across multiple divisional/regional business partners, Finance Product Teams, R&D PMO, Enterprise architects, and cross-functional teams to meet business needs and deliver value.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilize expertise to design and develop solutions using the Oracle EPM suite of products, including Oracle EPM Cloud Data Management (EDM), Planning (EPBCS), Consolidation (FCCS), and Profitability and Cost Management Module (EPCM) applications.
  • Manage the end-to-end workflow of EPM applications, overseeing batch schedules, data and metadata management, metadata loads, EPM Automate, security protocols, and data transformations to Inbound and Outbound (Upstream and Downstream) systems.
  • Drive automation initiatives and propose innovative ideas to enhance efficiency within EPM and PPM environments.
  • Lead the transformation of PPM processes by leveraging deep knowledge of PPM platforms (such as Planisware and Planview) and project management methodologies.
  • Collaborate with R&D PMO, R&D Finance and Corp Finance teams, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements related to financial planning, analysis, reporting, and project portfolio management.
  • Maintain and optimize existing systems to ensure ongoing functionality and performance.
  • Develop high-level and detailed solution designs aligned with the organization's financial and project management requirements. Ensure scalability, performance, and security of proposed solutions.
  • Integrate new EPM and PPM systems with other enterprise systems such as SAP, Kronos, JIRA, Tableau, SuccessFactors, etc., to ensure seamless operation and data flow.
  • Design data models and architectures to facilitate accurate financial data collection, storage, and analysis while ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Translate verbal requirements gathered in customer meetings into technical requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals for clear communication and alignment.
  • Assist in gathering requirements, discoveries, whiteboarding solutions, and conducting product demos to facilitate effective project planning and execution.
  • Deliver assignments within agreed scope, time, financial, and quality measures to meet project objectives and expectations.
  • Utilize knowledge of Tax and Treasury applications to inform decision-making and support related initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of combined experience as an IT Analyst, Developer, Tech Lead, or Architect.
  • Experience in designing and developing solutions utilizing the Oracle EPM suite of products, including Oracle EPM Cloud Data Management (EDM), Planning (EPBCS), Consolidation (FCCS), and Profitability and Cost Management Module (EPCM) applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end workflow of EPM applications, encompassing batch schedules, data and metadata management, metadata loads, EPM Automate, security protocols, and data transformations between inbound and outbound systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to introduce automation and innovative concepts, and to propose transformative solutions within EPM and PPM environments.
  • Expertise as an architect with in-depth knowledge of PPM platforms (Planisware and Planview or similar) and project management methodologies, facilitating leadership in the transformation of PPM processes.
  • Proficiency in designing and validating complex EPM and PPM architectures, ensuring successful implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay informed about current trends and technological advancements, and adeptness in sharing knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Agile delivery practices, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels, including developers, business partners, and management.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving prowess in large and complex enterprise project settings.
  • Proven leadership in collaborating with external vendors and business partners on projects.
  • Capability to lead onshore/offshore teams in multiple cross-functional initiatives towards shared objectives.


Preferred Qualifications& Competencies:

  • Master's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within a regulated environment with quality systems, showcasing strong documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in articulating and presenting different points of view on various technologies, including Finance Technology.
  • Experience with Finance Technology solutions such as Oracle EPM SaaS, Hyperion On-Prem, SAP, Planisware, Planview, etc.
