Basic Function
  • Manages the interfaces between engineering disciplines as well as between third-party supplied engineering contractors, suppliers and the owner's engineering team. Develop clear scope definition of all client scope and interface points including engineering deliverables, scope of services, timeline, etc.
  • Collaborate across LYB site project teams, Global Project Mumbai teams, Global Project domestic teams and third party engineering companies
  • Coordinates the internal and external engineering teams and ensures completeness of the Engineering/Design deliverables.
  • Support and promote all requirements for overall project engineering and procurement schedules and assist the Project Manager (PM) on managing cost by insuring all disciplines are competitively bidding equipment and materials for purchased.
  • Overall responsibility reaches until acceptance of the plant which includes development of close out reports and transfer of all project documentation.
  • Inform and report project status realistically, openly and in good time.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Be an Engineering leader by ensuring the LYB Projects are implemented in Detail Engineering deliverables for achieving Mechanical completion with Goal Zero incidents
  • within agreed project timelines and approved AFE TIC cost
  • Resolution of technical queries raised by LYB & Partner engineering teams by engaging with Project & Site team members, further ensuring queries of vendors/contractors are also resolved
  • Prepare the detailed engineering plans in the execution plan and the processes and procedures for engineering teams to follow
  • Follow-up with Partner on engineering deliverables timely completion and also monitoring the review cycles at LYB
  • Ensuring the man-hour consumption of the LYB engineering team members is within the budget.
  • Ensuring Management of Change is followed based on procedure
  • Preparing the monthly progress report and issuing the same to PM for his review before it is published to Internal LYB stakeholders
  • Appraising supervisor and project manager on the project activities
  • Ensuring Lessons Learned from the past experience and similar projects is not repeated
Area of Expertise, Requirements
  • Ensuring engineering standards LYB - OES -Tier 1, LYB ES and project engineering standards are adhered to in the specifications prepared by Partners
  • Oversee the review of engineering deliverables prepared by Partner and drive to closure of deliverables
  • Ensuring Quality engineering deliverables are issued as scheduled
  • Regular engagement with LYB Project & Site team members for discussion on Weekly Progress and Areas of concern
  • Regular engagement with Partner for Lead Talks/ Bi-weekly and Project Steering meeting
  • Attending pre-bid meetings with vendors (supplies) / bidders (contractors), Kick off meeting and further progress review meetings
  • Leadership of on-going fit-for-purpose engineering with Project team, Site & LYB-Engineering Delivery members
  • Attend project Risk Review sessions for risk identification and mitigation plan

Min. Qualifications

Education

  • Engineering or other technical degree (2 or 4 year level)

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years' direct project experience in chemical process industry or related field
  • Process/production engineering experience is preferred
  • General knowledge of all phases of engineering and construction
  • Previous experience working across multiple organizations on both the owner's side and third party engineering companies is required

Languages

  • English, additional language preferred

Other Skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Document management software(s)
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • P.E. License is a plus
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%
