The Senior Manager, Beverage Marketing & Promotions is responsible for driving the planning, development, implementation and management of Applebee's system-wide alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages marketing programs, calendar, promotions, menus and special projects, in support of the overall strategy. This Team Member will participate and contribute to beverage ideation, product sourcing, drink development, franchise/restaurant support and implementation for the Applebee's Beverage Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan system-wide beverage marketing calendar including product offerings, promotions, and menus, sharing with senior leadership, franchisees, and beverage vendors.

  • Oversee management of all system-wide beverage marketing programs and promotional activities including business case building, timeline deliverables, creative direction, system communication, program execution, and post-program analysis.

  • Through insights, analytics, and testing, build a pipeline of unique, innovative product offerings and promotions that will create buzz, relevancy and drive sales performance for Applebee's bar and beverage program.

  • Execute menu research to identify pricing and programming strategies and opportunities.

  • Partner with Business Analytics, Consumer Insights, and beverage vendors to analyze sales and revenue data, market trends, and consumer and competitive insights to recommend product, pricing, and promotional improvement recommendations.

  • Maintain strong understanding of key strategic initiatives and provide updates to senior leadership as project status changes, issues involving execution emerge, and ensure team communication and support.

  • Maintain all current beverage vendor relations and establish new partnerships that benefit company goals and objectives.

    • Build annual plans with beverage suppliers and negotiate marketing and activation support.

  • Leverage beverage suppliers' business resources, properties, and affiliations that best support the company's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for strategic alliances and partnerships that further business goals.

  • Identify areas within beverage to drive innovation, increase sales, enhance the guest experience, create efficiencies and/or lower costs.

  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional departments (Business Analytics, Consumer Insights, Culinary, Research & Development, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Communications), franchisees, and beverage vendors.

  • Present to Applebee's senior leadership and franchisee advisory committees.

  • Develops and maintains professional and functional working relationships with franchisees and beverage vendors, understanding key opportunities to further develop these relationships.

  • Partner with franchisee leadership providing them support, guidance, and consultation for the national and their local beverage programs.

  • Manage program research, develop program metrics and analyze results, communicating findings and building actionable next steps.

  • Stay current with national, state, and local alcohol laws.

  • Obtain and maintain position-specific training, certifications and/or licensing.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of previous Beverage experience in a similar or related field

  • 5+ years of previous Marketing, Brand, Product Development experience in a similar or related field

  • 5+ years of previous leadership/management experience in a similar or related field

  • Prior experience in the restaurant, retail, beverage or hospitality industries preferred, Franchise experience a plus

  • Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic

  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to effectively influence others across the organization, being comfortable in the spotlight.

  • Strong personal initiative and work ethic, with a collaborative approach and mindset

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills

  • Strategic mindset and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and develop fact based solutions

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel

  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures

  • Base Salary: $135,000 +
