LaForce is one of the largest distributors of door opening products and security systems in the United States. We are looking for a Wood Door Purchasing Specialist to process and manage wood door orders to suppliers within a deadline at the best price from approved specifications, documents and approvals. This also includes providing pricing that best meets the requirements of the job.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Process wood door orders and manage through their entirety.

  • Generate purchase and shop orders for the Wood Door Department for job approvals and change orders.
  • Produce wood door/frame quotes for Sales department.
  • Work closely with other departments and vendors to guarantee timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Be knowledgeable of all wood door manufacturers, their products, pricing structures and lead times.
  • Communicate effectively with others within the business regarding technical details relating to wood doors.
  • Manage workload to meet schedules.
  • Effectively handle wood door claims, submittals, and timelines by working with suppliers, customers (occasionally), sales and scheduling staffs to determine best overall solution, minimizing the overall cost to LaForce.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree; or one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to problem solve difficult or unexpected situations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
