This position occupies a key role in the manufacturing team of the production unit in Motion NEMA Motors. In this role, you will be responsible for focusing on improvement of equipment uptime, determining recommendations for equipment improvement which exceed manufacturers specifications by using root cause failure analysis and effective corrective actions. Administration, definition and supervision of the preventative maintenance program and preventative maintenance resources are also required.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform complex technical tasks and analysis of automated machinery and control systems including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)
  • Verify safety and maintainability of new equipment prior to installation including the selection of spare parts and the creation of preventative and predictive maintenance platforms
  • Troubleshoot, recommend and assist with repairs on production equipment including control systems and networking of automated machines
  • Manage, directly supervise and periodically audit the completed work of the preventative and predictive maintenance activities and PM scheduling
  • Plan and administer the detail preventative maintenance procedures and prepare all necessary documentation with the assistance of the maintenance planner scheduler
  • Periodically review PPM frequencies and mean time to failure data to adjust PM (Preventive Maintenance) frequency as necessary to prevent "over maintenance"
  • Annually review equipment history records and work orders, analyze data for failure modes and trends, and implement effective corrective actions to improve equipment uptime
  • Regularly identify long standing and high cost problems and then engineer effective solutions that significantly improve uptime and total operating costs
  • Maintain direct contact and relationships with equipment manufactures to develop strategic plans and equipment improvement to allow for more equipment uptime
  • Maintain with the assistance of project engineer all drawings, manuals and documents necessary for maintenance to properly maintain equipment to manufactures standards
Your background

  • Bachelor's Science Degree with minimum 2 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 4 years experience OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum 6 years experience. Engineering Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years with hands on experience with PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers), control logic, troubleshooting and repair of automated equipment.
  • Experience with reliability centered maintenance, lean manufacturing and analytical problem solving tools such as root cause failure analysis.
  • Computer skills including: Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, AutoCAD, PLC Control Software, SAP and/or Baldor B.U.S. systems for maintenance and material planning.
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) skills
  • Analytical problem solving skills and equipment troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics and other literature provided by the equipment manufacturer
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
