We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner in San Diego, CA.

Essential Functions:

  • Has responsibility for handling all HR matters for an assigned division or area of the company.

  • Responsible to improve work relationships, build engagement, increase productivity, attract and retain talent within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Facilitates and assists with implementing change management & organizational development activities.

  • Partners with management to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of HR services/programs.

  • Provides support to develop annual HR strategic plan, budget and initiatives for the assigned business.

  • Partners with Business Leaders to define a Talent Identification & Management strategy/approach that works for their specific group.

  • Counsels and coaches leaders and employees on various matters.

  • Communicate to managers and employees relevant changes in HR policies and programs.

  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, performance interventions, job design, employee relations) in order to optimize employee performance.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and policies related to management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Assists business leaders with talent identification and candidate evaluation expertise.

  • Solve problems and advocate for solutions that are good for both the business and for the employees.

  • Leads in the preparation and analysis of data and reports.

  • Interprets human resources management policies and procedures as needed.

  • Assists management in defining the needs and objectives of the division in such areas of employment, counseling, compensation, affirmative action and training; communicating these needs and objectives to the H/R division and/or director and how to best achieve them.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's in Human Resources, Business or a related field and 2+ years' experience in employee relations, employee retention, human resource process and procedures, unemployment, workers compensation, FMLA, local, state and federal laws and requirements or other directly related experience.

  • Experience with organizational development and change management projects preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

  • Supervisory or Leadership experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of HR practices, principles, applications, methods and laws.

  • Ability to multi-task across multiple Human Resource disciplines.

  • Flexible, team-player able to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Solid presentation, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong customer service, influence and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people.

  • Ability to work with highly confidential information daily.

  • Possess strong initiative, follow-up, feedback and timely decision-making skills.

  • Ability to supervise or lead lower-level HR staff.

  • Ability to champion HR programs despite resistance.

  • Strong MS Office and HRIS skills required.

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $84,000 - $112,000 hourly depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
