Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Material Handler to be based out of Thomasville, GA. Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Lead, the Material Handler will be responsible for will packaging finished PVC pipe in proper crate quantities for shipment, performing inspections of product to meet quality specifications and providing input on improving product flow. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Material Handler's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Package finished pipe in proper crate quantities
- Perform inspections of product for proper print line and quality specifications
- Perform general maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas
- Identify equipment issues and provide input on improving product flow
- Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately
What you'll bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience using hand power and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers and tape measures)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes desired
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Be able to pack and bundle product per packaging standards and complete any required training
- Assist with quality control duties
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role
- Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
