Overview

LMI is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to support the Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) Transformation effort. This position can be performed remotely.

The position will develop, validate, update, and deliver training plans and materials into the VA. The Training Development Specialist will also answer training inquiries, research answers, and provide clear summary responses as needed to users and government leadership. The candidate filling this position must be proactive, articulate, and comfortable interacting with key leadership.

Responsibilities
    Develop training materials and technical documentation (i.e., Users Guides, Enterprise Help, Training Plans, training aids, handouts, online course).
  • Produce a Training Gap Analysis identifying discrepancies or gaps between the OEM training and what training is needed for VA VCL to ensure that employees currently possess skills that are required to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Verify and recommend changes and updates to training materials and technical documentation.
  • Must be self-directed and detail oriented and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
  • Candidate will interpret and analyze requirements obtained/derived from customer; review, verify and/or validate system specifications and other design-related documentation.
  • Candidate will interact with the user community to refine user training needs and capture training effectiveness measurements.
  • Candidate will be working with multiple contractors and must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, flexible, and have excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Present technical level briefings in areas of responsibility as required.
  • Assist with developing procedures, plans, schedules, and documents required for execution.
  • Validate training materials, instructor certifications, reference materials and technical manuals used in performance of orientation training.
  • Works with deployment team to ensure training and validation are completed. Requires exceptional ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple events at one time.
  • Must be able to work with multiple stakeholders in different parts of the country both in person and through remote technologies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related field.
  • Skilled in writing training materials.
  • Experience developing training materials, ideally delivered online.
  • Experience with government training activities.
  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented.
  • Must be a loyal team player with excellent inter-personal skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with cloud call center technologies (Genesys, NICE and/or Avaya) and OEM training within those environments, a plus.
  • Knowledge and experince with Government online learning system and platforms.
  • Experience with modernizing training requirements from legacy systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Masters in Instructional Design, or equivalent.
  • Prosci certified.
  • Knowledge of Human-Centered Design.
  • Familiarity with system development activities such as Agile Sprints, Features and Demonstrations, Subject matter Expert (SME) sessions, and User Testing sessions.
