The National Account Manager role located in Cincinnati, OH, partners with the Director of Sales - Kroger to drive growth in key retailers. They are primarily responsible for building quality relationships with their customers and internal cross-functional teams to drive growth. They are responsible for identifying and developing strategic opportunities for Materne brands. They ensure that plans align with the strategic direction and financial objectives of the company to attain market leadership and drive long term growth. Successful candidates will have a strong background in category management, proficient in developing high quality customer-facing presentations. Candidates must have strong presentation skills and demonstrate an ability to balance multiple complex priorities.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Expand existing business
    • Manage the accounts, leveraging new and existing contacts and relationships.
    • Assists Sales Director to identify key divisional opportunities
    • Utilize the full extent of company resources to obtain and expand distribution and continued customer satisfaction.
    • Conduct key customer presentations.
    • Develop sales presentations and related materials in conjunction with marketing and present to distributors, brokers and retailers.
    • Attend trade shows, distributor shows and retailer functions.
    • Monitor and provide timely reports of distribution, retail pricing, and competition
  • Category Management
    • Weekly/Monthly Reporting - Building, updating, and interpreting multiple business metrics
    • Work to implement Category Management best practices with designated Brokers/Distributors/Retail accounts
    • Utilize data (syndicated, internal, customer) to build external sales, recommend SKU rationalization and identify trends
    • Work with Sales Director to develop specific planograms
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to include: Category Management, Revenue Growth Management, Sales Operations, Marketing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and HR
    • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with internal team members.
    • Manage and report competitive activity to include pricing, promotions and new products.
    • Manage customer forecasts, inventory, and demand planning.
    • Utilize syndicated data and other data sources to help manage the business.
  • Financial and Administration
    • Work with the Sales Director to achieve budgeted sales, profit and distribution objectives.
    • Support Sales Director in annual budget planning process.
    • Manage assigned financial budgets, including trade deduction management.
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2-4 years' successful CPG category management or sales experience
    • Strong analytic skill set that includes expertise in Circana/Nielsen, Market 6 and 84.51 Stratum
    • Experience in Trade Point, 1WS/VIP, Kroger Supplier Hub, Lavante preferred
    • Kroger experience preferred
    • Center Store experience preferred

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day
  • Willing to Travel up to 30%

TOTAL REWARDS

$125,000 -$150,000 Annually

20% bonus potential + 10% Sales Incentive Plan
