Job Description

BioHorizons is looking for a Motion Graphics Designer/Animator to join the BioHorizons Creative Services Team to work on animated projects for our portfolio of brands in the dental reconstruction market.

This role assumes leadership in all phases of the dental visualization production process including 3D modeling, surfacing, lighting, rendering, delivery and archiving, with emphasis on 3D animation of dental anatomy and surgical equipment. Additionally, the candidate will edit and deliver video footage (events, webinars and surgeries) and incorporate bumpers, titles and other motion graphics to footage for patient-facing videos, events, and surgical technique videos.

This is a position for a motivated creative who enjoys fun and fulfilling challenges and is looking to learn and collaborate with team members every day.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To use your motion graphics experience to complement the work of the Creative Services team and help bring surgical animations and event videos to life
  • Work with other teams across our portfolio of brands to help bring products and events to life with motion, collaborating with the Creative Team, adhering to brand guidelines
  • Work with the Marketing team to design 3D animation and motion graphics to enhance our marketing collaterals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create and edit technically accurate dental 3D models, animations, and textures. These will be used in Medical Education materials targeted for dental clinicians. Materials include anatomically correct models of major joint or other valid orthopedic structures, and animations of said models in simulated procedures.
  • Review medical education documentation, and live or recorded surgical procedures to better understand the critical anatomy and design features required for each project.
  • Works productively and harmoniously with Department Managers, 3D animators, Product managers, and medical education.
  • Reviews animation and visualization projects to determine the type and number of physical and 3D assets required
  • Designs and creates engaging 3D animations including high-res 3D models of dental anatomy and surgical equipment
  • Maintains an organized workflow and collaborates with team timelines and expectations.
  • Actively researches and test new digital tools to implement into animation team workflow
  • Helps to implement new hardware and software used by the animation team

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills and proven ability to use modeling and animation software (3DS Max, Z-brush) and motion graphic software (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • MS Office suite proficiency desired
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadline schedules
  • Must be able to work independently with little oversight on production

Education/Experience:

  • Four years experience in a design environment using applicable software preferred
  • Bachelor degree preferred and/or combination of experience
  • Experience in a medical or scientific industry preferred
