A Controls Systems Engineer job in Indianapolis, IN 46241 is currently available at Belcan. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a bachelor's degree and a minimum 3 years of relevant aircraft or marine platform gas turbine experience.

The successful candidate will potentially support an Indianapolis based customer focused on US DoD defense and aerospace related programs in the control systems domain. These projects include technology maturation, prototype development and full life cycle development of a product - ranging from new design development and testing to systems enhancements of proven fielded systems, including re-application of existing gas turbine engines to new platforms.

Job duties:
* Contribute and add value to client projects in the areas of requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, traceability, and technical management
- Support system architecture and design / trades; system integration, systems integration and testing, system verification and validation, technical issue resolution, qualification and certification support, and simulation testing.
- Support complex product and system development with skills in systems engineering, technical project management, and team leadership.
* Orient to new situations quickly and apply logical problem-solving skills to address customers' most challenging issues.
* Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of following: Python, Ada, and/or C/C++

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering degree
* A minimum of 3 years systems engineering experience in the field of gas turbine controls systems development, including:
* Engine Control System design with focus on modern FADEC design applied to gas turbine equipped airborne platforms and/or marine platforms
* System requirements (definition, decomposition, traceability, & management)
* System verification & validation (planning, execution, artifact development)
* System and component qualification and certification
* System interfaces, integration, design and testing, with emphasis on airborne electronics and controls
* Experience with requirements management and verification management tools (e.g. DOORS, Jama, Quality Manager)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* US Citizenship is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong preference will be given for those able to work on-site full time in our Indianapolis facilities.
* Experience with engineering standards such as DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP 4754, ARP-4761, MIL-STD-882
* Experience integrated systems into vehicle which may include aircraft, marine vehicle.
* Experience with manual & automated testing and troubleshooting
* Experience with certification testing for agencies such as NASA, DoD, or FAA,
* Knowledge of hardware, software, or system certification processes
* Experience with Agile development methods
* Aptitude to work collaboratively and drive consensus and alignment within and across organizational boundaries
* Ability to influence key decision-makers and highly technical resources
* Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methods and tools, such as Cameo, is desirable but not required

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $75,000 to $120,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
