Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Manage, research and resolve complex technical accounting matters including but not limited to revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, goodwill/intangible asset impairment, leases, hedging, mergers and acquisitions, and equity investments.
  • Proactively evaluate and analyze the impact of new accounting pronouncements to assist with the overall implementation of new accounting guidance, including the facilitation of trainings on new accounting standards and policy implementation.
  • Identify potential technical accounting issues and direct the technical accounting research, preparation and review of robust accounting research memorandums.
  • Educate members of the finance organization and other areas of the business on the accounting treatment of new transactions or business initiatives on an as needed basis.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide excellent business partnership, as well as educate, implement and ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements and internal policies and controls.
  • Preparation, review and analysis of ad-hoc reports to be used by executive management.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors.
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline processes, including documentation of the standard operating procedures.
  • Assess technical accounting issues for appropriate treatment in the Company's financial statements.
  • Review and analysis of the Company's quarterly and annual financial statements (10-K and 10-Q's)
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain controls documentation while making recommendations where appropriate.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree, in Accounting or Finance, CPA required
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience + private industry experience in a public company preferred
  • In-depth experience with FASB, SEC, AICPA, rules and regulations
  • Strong proficiency with US GAAP, internal controls, account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated technical skills including: ability to research complex accounting literature and technical analysis with thorough level of documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving skills
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Must be able to multi-task and balance multiple high priority tasks
    • Strong management and interpersonal skills, including team-orientation, ability to collaborate with stakeholders, ability to work independently, high-degree of self-initiative, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Candidate must be a pro-active self-starter with solid time management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
  • Must have the ability to handle changing priorities, multi-task outside primary areas of responsibility, establish good business relationships, work directly with management, and have demonstrated leadership ability to manage departmental projects and/or initiatives.
  • Ability to identify key issues and offer practical solutions
  • Energy and passion for your work, with a genuine interest for learning new accounting issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Experience with Workiva desired (but not required)
