Who we are looking for:

Cornerstone Servicing is seeking a Sr. Business Controls Audit Support Specialist to join our team in Englewood, CO! The Sr. Business Controls Audit Support Specialist will be responsible for internal and external servicing audit management. This includes but is not limited to project management, loan level reviews, drafting and evaluating responses and supporting documentation. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have strong knowledge of mortgage servicing functions and requirements and an ability to critically and efficiently assess responses and documentation provided by others, and be resourceful. Candidate requires strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working directly or indirectly with banking, lending or servicing regulators.

  • Salary: $50-70k
  • Location: Onsite daily in Englewood, CO

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review audit and informational requests and establish a project tracking mechanism for each.
  • Determine appropriate resourcing for each audit and informational request
  • Track and manage responses.
  • Assess draft findings for regulatory applicability
  • Review operational responses and documentation for completeness and accuracy relative to the regulatory/client requirements
  • Perform loan level evaluations as necessary to summarize loan activity and compliance with various servicing requirements
  • Maintain relationships with external testing parties and operational management in order to discuss testing exceptions, feedback and results.
  • Management of remediation activities for identified exceptions, including logging, tracking remediation efforts, and evaluating completion
  • Special projects as assigned

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years operations, or quality control experience in the mortgage industry
  • Strong research, communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills including SQL, database management, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State Mortgage Banking Laws
  • Strong technical, reasoning, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to details and ability to manage variations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Excel, Word, etc.)
