Job Description

Role Description:

The Process Engineer is responsible for providing the technical expertise linking design requirements with production realities. Responsible for conducting studies, analysis to implement the best sequence of the operations to drive cost effective work flow. Develops and implements methods to ensure the maximum utilization of facilities, equipment and human resource to deliver a process capable of producing 100% on-time, defect free product.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Santa Claus, IN location.
  • Responsible for line designs, workstation and operational- definitions
  • Develops excellent working relationship with customers and peers
  • Responsible to identify appropriate cycle, TAKT and product throughput time
  • Participate in and lead Continuous improvement efforts as projects require
  • Responsible for line and work-station design. This will include assessments and adjustments to enhance productivity and adjust capacity as needed
  • Able to apply concepts such as DFA/DFM, Lean Manufacturing/DFT, Poka-Yoke, etc.
  • Capable of setting up processes that include a variety of materials including wood, metal, plastic, and glass
  • Develops processes that are safe and ergonomically suitable
  • Develops, communicates, and participates in implementing manufacturing process strategies capable of producing defect free products that consistently meet customer requirements for value and pricing
  • Conducts root cause investigations
  • Develops root cause investigation corrections
  • Develops work instructions and OMS
  • Plans and identifies fixture and hand tools, incorporating mistake proofing into the process
  • Responsible for pilot runs and process verification for sign off prior to production.

Technical Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge
  • PC literate. Fluent with Microsoft office programs
  • Understanding of equipment capabilities, cost justification and optimal utilization
  • Highly skilled in project management and able to utilize project management software
  • Able to manage a project from idea conception to completion
  • Able to communicate and sustain improvements
