Position Highlights:

• Position: Expressive Therapist

• Location: Naperville, IL

• Part Time- 24 hrs/week

• Hours: Tues: 11a-7p, Thurs: 11a-7p, Sat: 8a-4p

Provides quality clinical expressive therapy services to patient populations and their families/significant others. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic groups including: art/dance/music, psycho-education, social skills, verbal process, and structured leisure to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

What you will need:

Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant behavioral health field

• Music Therapy: Art Therapy & Dance Movement Therapy: A minimum of a Master's Degree in a relevant behavioral health field

• Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology and clinical needs of assigned population

• Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance, and must arrive at work with adequate time for program set-up.

• Ability to maintain information which is highly confidential

• Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation

• Must be able to demonstrate self-control in volatile or hostile situations

• Must be able to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic distance with clients; maintains therapeutic boundaries with patients during treatment and following discharge

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum of two years' experience in a behavioral health inpatient setting

• Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment

Required License and/or Certification:

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 30 days of hire

• CPR certification within 90 days of hire

Preferred License and/or Certification:

• Music Therapist- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)

• Art Therapist- Registered Art Therapist (ATR)

• Dance Movement Therapist- Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT)

• CADC if working in addiction services
