Traveling Diesel Technician

Clarke Vehicare is looking for a traveling diesel tech to join our team! This role will be based out of our Oklahoma City branch but will involve travel to any of our Vehicare branches across the country. You will be traveling to various locations and supporting the local team with any mechanical work. A well-rounded background is great, as you will be working on a variety of vehicles, including diesel engines, material handling equipment and automobile. In this role, you can expect to travel at least 2 weeks out of the month supporting our company with mechanical work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use of smartphone, laptop and tablet technology to record all repairs.
  • Repairs and maintains customer vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Job will include Road Service and In-Shop Work
  • Heavy Duty Truck Repair
  • Will include Engine Diagnostics Experience with Paccar, Cummins, & CAT
  • Perform all types of engine, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs.
  • Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW.
  • Assist other technicians when needed
  • Must be able to work independently.
PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years Truck Repair Experience required.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Completion of Diesel Program Preferred
  • CDL is a Plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • ASE Certification in PMI & Brakes a plus
  • Valid driver's license.
