The Power & Control Specialist (PCS) is an hourly position that maintains all instrumentation, electrical and electronic devices and systems in the Amarillo Plant, including computer-based control systems and medium voltage power distribution systems. This is a diverse role combining skills and abilities for electrical and electronic equipment and systems.

Reports to: Maintenance Team Leader

Span of Control: Maintains all instrumentation and electrical devices and systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, reassemble, maintain, and calibrate electrical equipment and systems.

  • Some examples of equipment are winder motors and motor controls, general power distribution, lighting, programmable logic control systems, etc.
  • Utilize information obtained from engineering drawings, electrical schematics and diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents, and verbal field instructions needed to perform assigned duties.
  • Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders.
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards and area/pillar activities as assigned.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment.
  • Participate in safety and plant trainings.

Complete accurate records and reports needed for the PCS role in SAP plant maintenance module.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US.
  • Must be drug free.
  • 4 years electrical/electronic/instrumentation experience in industrial/manufacturing environment. Combination of college and experience will be considered.
  • Rotating shifts - days and nights 12-hour shift.
  • Stand for extended prolonged periods during 12-hour shift.
  • Climb and work from ladders, both portable and fixed
  • Climb stairs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years associate degree in electrical or Electronic Systems Technology is preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • General knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to use a multimeter.
  • Ability to trouble shoot 24-volt DC controls.
  • Ability to trouble shoot 120-volt AC controls.
  • Ability to work with 120-volt and 480-volt power.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
