The Power & Control Specialist (PCS) is an hourly position that maintains all instrumentation, electrical and electronic devices and systems in the Amarillo Plant, including computer-based control systems and medium voltage power distribution systems. This is a diverse role combining skills and abilities for electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
Reports to: Maintenance Team Leader
Span of Control: Maintains all instrumentation and electrical devices and systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, reassemble, maintain, and calibrate electrical equipment and systems.
- Some examples of equipment are winder motors and motor controls, general power distribution, lighting, programmable logic control systems, etc.
- Utilize information obtained from engineering drawings, electrical schematics and diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents, and verbal field instructions needed to perform assigned duties.
- Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders.
- Participating in Root Cause Analysis and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards and area/pillar activities as assigned.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment.
- Participate in safety and plant trainings.
Complete accurate records and reports needed for the PCS role in SAP plant maintenance module.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US.
- Must be drug free.
- 4 years electrical/electronic/instrumentation experience in industrial/manufacturing environment. Combination of college and experience will be considered.
- Rotating shifts - days and nights 12-hour shift.
- Stand for extended prolonged periods during 12-hour shift.
- Climb and work from ladders, both portable and fixed
- Climb stairs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Two years associate degree in electrical or Electronic Systems Technology is preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Ability to use a multimeter.
- Ability to trouble shoot 24-volt DC controls.
- Ability to trouble shoot 120-volt AC controls.
- Ability to work with 120-volt and 480-volt power.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
