As the Quality Engineer, you will provide leadership in Quality Assurance by ensuring that we meet or exceed customer requirements by developing, improving and maintaining a consistent methodology for compliance and continuous improvement. You will have a focus areas include the Management of Quality Business System, Production Quality, Supplier Quality.

Salary range for this role is $95,000 to $110,000 but actual compensation offered will depend on experience.

You Will:
  • Manage, improve and maintain the Quality Business System and management of the Corrective and Preventive Action System.
  • Manage the Internal Audit Process and provide leadership for continuous improvement and overall management of our Quality Business System; ensuring compliance with corporate requirements, current ISO 9001 requirements and all other applicable quality standards.
  • Develop and deploy quality initiatives ensuring success of business objectives.
  • Oversee capability studies on manufacturing equipment, completes equipment installation run-offs, gage R&R studies.
  • Provide the new product development with the appropriate resources to accomplish initiatives (procedures, identifying critical to quality requirements, sampling and quality plans, certifications)
  • Provide statistical analysis, support and expertise and interact with Production Management to ensure in-process quality requirements are met.
  • Complete Supplier/Customer capability assessments
  • Communicate with suppliers concerning PPAP, SCAR and CI activities.
  • Validate certification testing to ensure compliance and approval from governing bodies (ANSI, CSA, NSF,UL)
  • Ensure any applicable standards requirements are reflected in product designs
  • Coordinate and receive external agency inspection audits
  • Support domestic or international Codes and Standards activities
  • Represent Quality Assurance by participating on the Watts Radiant Leadership Team
  • Lead in the In-Process and Supplier Material Review Board Meetings and make decisions using Acceptance Criteria and Product Specifications regarding quality of the products.
  • Interact with all departments to establish and maintain quality standards.
You Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business
  • 5+ years' experience with the use and implementation of Total Quality concepts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with the implementation and use of Statistical Process Control and Advanced Analytical Techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, Lean Six Sigma and quality principles, concepts, practices, and theories.
  • Working knowledge of auto-CAD or other design related software. Must have experience in basic Metrology and Calibration.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
