Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Project Manager to oversee projects and lead a technical staff supporting the DoE Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHHS). This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
    Lead a large team of IT professionals providing technical support in the areas of web and database development, network administration, and cyber security.
  • Monitor each task and brief client management concerning problems encountered and accomplishments.
  • Evaluate staff performance and review work products on a daily basis.
  • Keep time and budget commitments for the organization.
  • Create and maintain an information technology project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation.
  • Utilize software life-cycle methodologies and agile concepts.
  • Coordinate delivery of development and production releases that meet quality assurance standards.
  • Assist technical team in design and development tasks and assist test team in creating test plans and testing efforts.
Qualifications

10+ years experience in information technology including at least 5 years in recent project management roles. Bachelor's degree in a related field. PMP certification a plus. Experience providing supervisory, technical, and administrative direction to staff. Experience creating successful customer relationships and working closely with the agency senior staff and program/task managers to execute the program. Experience developing, implementing, and executing program management plans and procedures, work plans, schedules, and budgets. Experience planning, organizing, directing, and controlling overall activities of a project, including project management, technical work, quality of work, schedule, and costs. Experience using automated project management tools (e.g., MS Project). Experience with risk and problem management from identification through mitigation to resolution. Must be able to work closely with technical teams and government program managers with equal efficiency. Must be highly motivated, assertive, and have excellent communication skills. Must be a US citizen and hold a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
