The Senior Principal Engineer - Software Systems is a member of the Technical Leadership Council (TLC) functioning as the SWX wide expert in Software Systems. This person will lead creation and maintenance of the technical strategy for Software Systems design for SWX projects.

Key Responsibilities:

The key position responsibilities of The Senior Principal Engineer - Software Systems include:

  • Creating and maintaining the technical strategy for Software Systems design including abstraction interfaces
  • Evaluating new features impact on software system technical strategy and modify the strategy as necessary to accommodate feature growth
  • Develop technical documents that detail strategic system features and interfaces
  • Build and test prototypes to validate the technical strategy

Requirements and Skills

  • Experience building applications on Linux or Android is preferred
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products Highly self-motivated
  • Basic understanding of ARXMLs and their application in Automotive
  • Basic understanding of Cockpit and AD Software Architecture is preferred
  • Hands on experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB, PREEvision or Rhapsody
  • Deep understanding of software systems design including resource modeling and software integration
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Experience with GreenHills, QNX or other embedded operating systems is preferred
  • Understanding of software design, coding methods, programming principles and best practices
  • Flexible and adaptable to learn and understand new technologies
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • College diploma or University degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years equivalent work experience
