Fabricator

Position Summary:

Coperion K-Tron is looking for a Fabricatorand the position will be located in Salina, KS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

The Fabricator will be responsible for performing repetitive machine and assembly operations to produce standardized sheet metal products in accordance with dimensional specifications and quality standards requiring a fundamental knowledge of fabricating and machine operations, assembly methods, and shop practices.

  • Pick and separate lasered parts based on the work order.

  • Make scratch and center-punch layouts from templates and patterns.

  • Set up and operate shears, saws, press brakes, roll formers, plasma cutters, flangers, drills, punches, etc., to cut, form, and shape parts

  • May assemble and fit parts and details using hand tools and jigs.

  • Check work for dimensions and configuration.

  • Work from job layouts, patterns, templates, bills of materials, and production orders.

  • Use tape measure, square, dividers, straight edge, and fixed gauges to set up, operate machines, and check work.

  • Computer skills required.

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The ability to read blueprints.

  • Must have good analytical skills necessary to evaluate and organize workloads and schedules.

  • The ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Must have the mechanical ability to use hand and powered tools and have knowledge in the use of tape measures, calipers, and gauges to test and check mechanically and for appearance quality.

  • Must be able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail; good coordinating, organizing, and scheduling skills.

  • Knowledge of shop equipment, tools, and facilities.

  • Must have knowledge in the use of computer.

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
