YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Purchasing Supervisor opportunity in our Guymon, OK, processing facility. This position supports the purchasing department by procuring the materials and ingredients required to produce high-quality pork products in a processing facility, harvesting over 21,000 animals daily. Additionally, this position provides direction, oversight, and guidance to a team that processes orders and receives materials and ingredients. Collaborates and communicates with all levels of plant management and vendors to provide a high level of service to meet the organization's business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to establish procure-to-pay procedures and initial min/max inventory levels in the Box Shop and Warehouse to purchase materials and ingredients needed to support operations cost-effectively.
  • Provides oversight and direction for preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for materials, ingredients, and capital projects promptly, followed by a collaborative effort with AP to ensure all invoices are paid on time
  • Assures timely execution of order processing to supply operations with no inventory interruptions while supporting the PPE team with order picking, material handling, inventory reconciliation, and scheduled cycle counts.
  • Provides required reports to management and department leadership, including key metrics.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with internal customers and vendors, providing the highest level of customer service to support operations.
  • Works closely with Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, shipping stipulations, and complete deliveries, as well as
  • Maintain SQF Vendor files as required by the SQF plan.
  • Provides direction, training, and development to the purchasing and receiving team to include the analysis of ROQ's and ROP's.
  • Create, execute, and manage open purchase orders, inbound receiving logs, and packing slips for improved communication and planning for plant stakeholders.
  • Analyzes, interprets data, and completes other duties as requested by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, or 2+ years of supply or accounting experience, purchasing/inventory control management, and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Ability to process data, formulate a plan, and articulate information comprehensively to end user
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines during the financial period.
  • Ability to work well within a team and interact daily with all company workforce levels.
  • Extensive experience using personal computers, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), and all standard programs the industry operates.
  • Experience with SAP and JDE preferred.

SCHEDULE

  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Primarily, it is a production floor environment with some office time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment (production floor) always requires hearing protection.
