Job Description
SUMMARY

Assists the Executive and Deputy Director in the orderly operation of the Youth Center. Coordinates and supervises all aspects of the Food Service, Maintenance, Office Support and Educational Divisions. Responsible for the physical plant of the Youth Center, ensuring that the building is in full conformity with applicable federal, state and local statutes, ordinances and regulations. This position works from 12pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday, with weekend coverage as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the physical plant in ensuring full conformity with federal, state, local regulations;
  • Participate and helps develop the annual budget in regards to building/maintenance expenses;
  • Provides oversight to the food service division along with the Director of Food Services;
  • Provides oversight to the maintenance division along with the Director of Building Services;
  • Provides oversight to the educational department and serves as a liaison with the MCIU;
  • Directly supervises the Office Support staff and the Financial Technician position.
  • Ensures the orderly operation including, but not limited to, security systems, fire drills, etc.;
  • Supervises and monitors all program expenditures and costs to remain within budget;
  • Serves as liaison for contracted services, Assets & Infrastructure, professional services and court;
  • Provides oversight to work orders and Capital Budget projects.
  • Liaison with the IT Dept. and assists with virtual meetings and technical issues;
  • Creates and implements Emergency Operations Planning;
  • Participates and recommends personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and terminations;
  • Completes evaluations and work performances
  • Functions as an On-all Administrator with the ability to assist staff in both programs as needed;
  • Facilitates positive community relationships;
  • Assists with the recruitment and/or development of programming for the agency.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience in public administration or related field;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or a related degree, Masters preferred;
  • Knowledge in Department of Human Services Regulations, Juvenile Act, residential programs;
  • Must have excellent communication and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to supervise and train staff in the performance of their duties;
  • Must be physically capable of completing SCM training with the ability to assist in crisis events with adolescents;
  • Ability to express oneself verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to document and maintain records;
  • Must obtain a Criminal History Record check, Child Abuse History clearance, FBI clearance and drug screening prior to employment;
  • Must obtain a physical examination report from a licensed physician prior to employment;
  • Must have a valid driver's license;
  • Perform related work as required.
