Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Sanitation technicians carry the responsibility of sanitation for plant operations. Completion of tasks within sanitation schedule and any emergency needs within the facility. Work is primarily in the production environment with those types of hazards associated; seasonal temperature fluctuation, hot pipes, working with chemicals, slip-trip hazards, and high noise areas. This position will use a variety of chemicals and sanitation equipment to clean and sanitize food processing equipment and facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Remove all debris from machinery, floors, and contact points prior to cleaning.
  • Pre-rinse machinery and contact surfaces.
  • Foam scrub and rinse the entire processing room (i.e., walls, floors, food contact surfaces, equipment) prior to sanitizing.
  • Make sure all electrical equipment is bagged prior to liquid use. Ensure aisle ways and raw material storage area are swept and trash cans dumped.
  • Handle chemicals used in the process of cleaning and sanitation by following safety procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure proper use of equipment.
  • Observe and follow GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
  • Complete all daily required paperwork.
  • All additional tasks as assigned by a member of Supervision.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years +.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to follow verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work as a team player and ability to work independently.
  • Time management skills.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Prior food plant sanitation experience.
  • General knowledge of Chemical Safety and Chemical Handling.
  • Education & Experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel to reach with hands and arms and talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment. Ability to work outside and inside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures.

COMPENSATION

  • $22.10/Hour


SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Friday 11:30PM-7:00AM (Hours Can Adjust Based off Needs of Business)
