Job Description

The EXAScaler team is looking for a Network Engineer with rich experience in Linux and networking. As a member of the R&D team you contribute to product development, deployment, and support in a variety of ways. As our networking expert, you work directly with DDN customers to integrate our parallel filesystem product into their compute environments. You design and implement tools for diagnosing network issues rapidly and work with customers to troubleshoot issues that emerge in their environments.

Responsibilities

    Become an expert user of EXAScaler and Lustre.
  • Triage, diagnose, and troubleshoot network related issues with the EXAScaler appliance and Lustre file system in production customer environments.
  • Provide technical support to Professional Services, Customer Support, and directly to customers.
  • Provide hands on assistance with field escalations.
  • Design and deploy internal lab equipment to reflect testing and support requirements.
  • Design and integrate/implement comprehensive network diagnostic tools.
  • Engage product engineers when deep technical expertise is needed with elements of the network stack.
  • Develop processes and tools to accelerate problem analysis.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with TCP, RoCE Ethernet, and InfiniBand Networks.
  • Experience as a developer and/or support escalation team member in a mission-critical role related to network devices such as switches and routers.
  • Linux and Networking Certifications such as RHCE, CCNP, CCIE, JCIE, NCP-IB, NCE-IB.
  • Experience with network file systems (at least NFS) is required; experience with GPFS would be great; experience with Lustre/LNet would be the best.
  • Strong coding skills with Python and bash; experience with C, Go, and Rust are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with client SDKs is highly desirable (e.g. CUDA, DOCA).
  • Thrives and enjoys working in a high-paced, fast-changing environment.
  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong debugger of complex systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills especially with complex HW/SW interaction problems.
  • Knowledge of AI and HPC workloads, cloud storage, cloud computing, data center operations is desirable.

Education

  • BS or MS CS/EE or equivalent with 8+ years of industry experience.
