Job Description

A Senior Systems Engineering Enterprise Architect will facilitate, strategize, and enhance our Integrated Digital Engineering Environment (IDEE). Focus will be on the digital engineering ecosystem and connecting engineering tools and data across engineering and other enterprise organizations. A key component will be developing digital threads across the varied Authoritative Sources of Truths (ASoTs). The Systems Engineering Enterprise Architect will collaborate with engineering and Information Technology (IT) organizations to enhance current connectivity and implement new systems and connection across multiple entities to unite and deliver on a common goal.

Hybrid work arrangement:
Expectation is for 80% On-Site at GDLS with 20% remote option.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance our Integrated Digital Engineering Environment (IDEE) by working with engineering organizations and IT to grow the connected set of tools and data
  • Collaborate with engineering departments and technology stakeholders to understand specific challenges and capturing software function with details on data input/output with connecting systems
  • Transform manual processes into automated process where applicable, and document new processes
  • Identify risks and gaps in development of the IDEE
  • Operate in an agile mindset and adapt to a fast-changing environment
  • Review technical support strategies, integrations, virtualization, and storage
  • Support roadmap development and oversite
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10 years plus in a related role is desired.
  • Systems Engineering experience and mindset for program execution
  • Strong understanding of engineering data and digital engineering tools
  • Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience using Cameo/MagicDraw
  • Solid facilitation skills
  • Strong knowledge management skills
  • Ability to articulate vision
  • Experience with implementing digital engineering ecosystems
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral/presentation and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical language.
  • Strong leadership, project and team building skills - ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives by working effectively with others
  • Solid understanding of engineering disciplines within design and test, including hardware and software development.
  • Ability to identify and define gaps and risks in systems configuration
  • Ability to navigate application owners and vendors for data gathering efforts
  • Strategist with strong analytical skills

Additional Information / Desired Experience

  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles desired.
  • This position might require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required Works well in team and individually
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
