AS9100 Transition Lead
Lead the company effort to transition from ISO9001 certification to AS9100D Certification.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
  • Utilize the external gap assessment to create a plan and schedule to achieve AS91000D certification.
  • Interface with impacted functional groups to investigate the gaps and determine a plan to revise processes or documents to be compliant to AS9100D.
  • Assist and monitor functional groups to assure they complete those plans according to the schedule.
  • Document and diagram key processes.
  • Advise functional areas on the development of quality metrics or key process performance objectives.
  • Conduct Quality Management System audits and enter audit results into TIPQA including any corrective action requests.
  • Review and disposition proposed corrective action plans. Verify the effectiveness of the corrective action. Close out after affirmative verification.
  • Establish a AS9100D Internal Audit schedule that will supersede the current ISO9001 schedule.
  • Interface with ISO9001 Lead to assure current registration is maintained and to coordinate any changes to the QMS.
  • Interface with Supply Chain on the flow down of AS9100D requirements to suppliers where needed.
  • Plan and communicate information regarding external audits. Coordinate the audit schedule with the external auditor, coordinate the selection of internal auditees including personnel availability, obtain necessary resources, prepare the internal auditees with an QMS requirement refresher as needed. Escort the external auditor, answer questions, and provide interpretation where needed.
  • Manage and coordinate an annual Management Review meeting covering the requirements defined in the AS9100D Standard.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring on AS9100D.
  • Maintain active participation in the Quality/EHS Steering Team.
  • Interface with executive leaders on the status of AS9100D certification.
  • Advise other sites on their pursuit of AS9100D registration.
  • This is an on-site position in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Qualifications Sought
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D.
  • Understanding of Standards, Policies, Standard Practices, Processes and Procedures used by the enterprise.
  • Must be competent in conflict resolution, communication, and presentation skills, interviewing techniques and team dynamics. Requires excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Understanding of the Root Cause & Corrective Action Process.
  • Proficient in Quality Auditing. Must be familiar with the auditing process i.e. audit preparation and planning, audit performance, audit reporting, audit follow-up and closure.
  • Competency in the MS Office suite and TIPQA tool desirable.
