Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance repairs for assigned equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment. This position will also be responsible for general building maintenance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs monthly preventative maintenance to ensure facility equipment are operating properly.
  • Performs general repairs to equipment that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Inspects and identifies equipment in need of repair.
  • Maintains and orders inventory of maintenance supplies.
  • Consults with facility maintenance leader on items that require more specialized repairs.
  • Consults with machinists and inspectors to follow up with maintenance requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform general mechanical and light repair tasks on machinery, equipment and building facilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions from senior maintenance workers and maintenance leads.
  • Ability to perform diagnosis/repair on power and control circuits (24V, 120V, 240V, 480V).
  • Capable of using API for scheduling and signing off maintenance tasks.
  • Electrical maintenance knowledge utilizing a volt-ohmmeter.
  • Ability to read/write/speak English.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Special Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Hazardous Materials Certification.

Job Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Job Demands:

  • Must be able to move/lift 50lbs as needed.
  • Must be able to operate forklift/lift carts.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.

Working Conditions:

Works in a controlled climate. Occasional outdoor work required. Small amounts of machine noise. Works around hazardous chemicals. PPE required and provided by company.
