Summary:
Barr is seeking a full-time Archaeology Field Technician to support our growing Cultural Resources Management group in the Four Corners. This position is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, but will support the larger four corners area. This person will be responsible for completing fieldwork at a variety of remote locations and document findings in accordance with company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in archaeology, history, or related field or equivalent experience and expertise
Demonstrated ability to identify artifacts and features
Willingness and ability to work and hike outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; this may include extremely hot and cold weather
Familiarity with Field Maps and digital recording
Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet client and project needs
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in technical report writing
Regional experience in the Four-Corners area
Project management skills
Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships across multi-dimensional teams
Aptitude for developing client relationships and business opportunities
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Albuquerque, New Mexico, office.
NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction and industrial sites, and to enter and work in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, high temperature and pressure process equipment, and other conditions typical of large industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Some work locations may also feature rough terrain, steep slopes, and dense vegetation. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required; safety training will be provided.
