Job Summary
Fishbeck has an exciting opportunity for a creative and talented Civil Engineer in our Toledo and Novi offices. Fishbeck is growing in several regions, and this is a great opportunity to play a significant role in our firms' growth! This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills, and the ability to work with other staff in a project team environment.
Primary Functions
  • Plan and design Civil and Land Development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management and utilities.
  • Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, and prepare reports.
  • Research zoning ordinances, design standards, and permitting regulations and prepare submittals.
  • Assist with drafting and plan production utilizing AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Work with a multi-discipline team of architects, MEP, and structural engineers on a variety of projects including Higher Education, Retail, Commercial, Industrial, and others.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology
Desired Skills/Experience
  • 3+ years of experience of land development or general civil engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD required; Civil 3D preferred.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
