About the Role

To plan, drive and manage all aspects of the Americas Sales for the Luxury Audio category. This includes direct interaction with key accounts as well as managing direct and Rep agency sales teams, as well as Distributors and other third parties.

Your Team

This position directly supervises five Sales Managers, indirectly one sales engineer, as well as independent Rep Agency sales teams.


What You Will Do

  • Directs team to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for effectively and accurately forecasting sales and demand, as well as projecting revenue and financial impact bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.

  • Align with GM on sales and sales channel strategies.

  • Drives sales and profit goals with enthusiasm, intensity and integrity.

  • Leads sales team by example with enthusiasm, intensity and integrity.

  • Identifies and prioritizes, with the assistance of various functional areas, opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate and foster positive feedback with Luxury Audio Business Unit (developing Luxury Audio products)

  • Directs the development of solutions and processes to existing problems and looks towards the future to anticipate potential problems

  • Develops and fosters a team environment for all team members

  • Monitor all news and trends within the categories.

  • Develop new opportunities and new channels

  • Develop and maintain relationships at all levels with key accounts

  • Take lead in managing promotions and national promotional calendar, collaborate with other sales managers and other functions to effectively execute

  • Take lead in managing MAP violations and implementing MAP policy, collaborate with other sales managers

  • Collaborate with Marketing Department on sales collateral, launches, content, trade marketing and when merited, campaigns

  • Create and execute sales and business presentations and demonstrations.

  • Review store surveys as conducted by the team or third parties and develop action plans based on findings

  • Review training material as created by and as conducted by the team or third parties and develop action plans based on findings

  • Represent Harman at key events, dealer functions and trade shows as required

  • Direct the implementation and evaluation for all projects related to Luxury Audio sales

  • Develop a departmental budget, ensure adherence to the budget, and take corrective action, as required

  • Drives the Company Culture in the department and throughout the Company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of the Company's Mission

What You Need

  • Deep knowledge of our markets, competition and how our brands fit into the market and how premium Consumer Electronics (CE) brands are effectively sold at retail and online

  • Bachelor's Preferred, Marketing or business

  • 7+ years in CE sales or marketing

  • 3+ years in CE Sales management

  • Very good people skills

  • Very good communication skills

  • Proven Leadership skills

  • Excellent Planning and forecasting skills

  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills

  • Industry product knowledge and technical skills (relating to product)

  • Passionate and Creative

  • Friendly tenacity

  • Competent in excel, word and PowerPoint

  • Existing relationships at key national accounts

What is Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree in Business or Marketing

  • 10+ years in Consumer Electronics (CE) sales or marketing

  • 5+ years in CE Sales management

  • Excellent people skills

  • At Harman, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is $165,000 - $202,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
