As a Solutions Architect for Ericsson Federal Technologies Group (EFTG), you will own the solution, workshops, architectures, white papers, and technical forums. The Cloud and Core Solutions Architect will be leading customer presentations and engagement. This exciting opportunity will be building the next generation of Department of Defense communications systems on 5G technology. Success is based on customer intimacy and building unwavering customer trust as a critical priority.
What you will do
  • Participate in C-Level, Senior Ranking Officer, or Senior Government Official discussions based on an end-to-end private network environment, including 5G architecture and specifications, Cyber-security, RAN, Open RAN, Packet Core, IMS Core, OSS, Network Slicing, Orchestration, Services, Managed Services domains.
  • Drive business models based on market realities in Ericsson Business Areas and the Department of Defense.
  • Prioritize the customer needs and drive delivery of the customer solutions. Support government meetings, tasks, activities, and deliverables.
  • Have a passion for supporting the US Department of Defense and tactical operations functions.
  • Analyze solutions from an end-to-end perspective to provide extensive support for High-level and Low-level designs (HLD and LLD).
  • Support as-a-service models for deployment of Ericsson products and solutions into Cloud and Government Cloud Environments.
  • Have a passion for the implementation of CI/CD and DevSecOps methodologies for DoD and US Government software delivery.
You will bring
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience in Ericsson CSS portfolio and platforms.
  • Certification in any one of virtualization technology: VMware/RHEV/Hyper-V].
  • Basic/Advanced certification level in cloud technology such as Microsoft Azure, GCE, VMware, RHOSP, Docker, Kubernetes(k8), and OpenShift.
  • Must have good knowledge and deployment work experience of Telco Cloud. (NFVI/MANO/Horizontal-Cloud/Vertical-Cloud).
  • Openstack Certified and Planning/deployment/Solve hands-on experience of at least one Openstack Platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Virtualization Technologies on KVM, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, HP, Dell, Red Hat, or IBM (at least one vendor).
  • Required good understanding of CloudNative (Containers/Dockers/Kubernetes) and Cloud storages like CEPH.
  • Understanding of Operating Systems - RHEL, SUSE, CentOS, Ubuntu etc. (At least one of them).
  • Required Good Knowledge of Linux / Python / Yaml programming languages.
  • Experience in supporting cloud solutions in a production environment.
  • Understanding of cloud automation technologies and configuration management.
  • Good knowledge and experience in virtual networking, virtual switches (OpenvSwitch) and SDN- Northbound (REST http API), southbound interfaces (OpenFlow), SR-IOV, and DPDK.
  • RESTful API address, able to write scripts to call different Openstack API's.
  • Outstanding track record of building strong customer relationships of trust.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ericssons portfolio of products and services.
  • Proven ability to lead customer engagements into solutions providing outstanding value for the customer and Ericsson Federal Technologies Group.
  • Working knowledge of 3GPP 5G & LTE standards and industry trends and initiatives from other standards bodies.
  • Experience working with government and defense industrial base customers.
  • Broad understanding of defense mission execution and operational needs.
  • Experience in network architecture planning activities with a focus on End-to-End (E2E) solutions incorporating EPC, RAN, Transport, and UE requirements utilizing Ericsson technologies.
  • Build solutions using Ericsson LTE, NB-IoT, and NR technologies that meet business requirements.
  • Ability to create test plans to demonstrate system architecture and performance.
  • The ability to collaboratively develop architectures and solutions directly with customers.
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise/Dedicated/Mission Critical Networks or small carrier grade end-to-end networks.
  • US Citizenship & possess a current DCSA security clearance or be able to obtain one within 90 days of the hiring date: Secret level clearance minimum.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT, or other related discipline required; Masters in Science or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ yrs. of 3GPP solutions or product management experience or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with customers on technical strategy evolution.
  • Thorough knowledge of Packet and Communications Core evolution, e.g., 5G network transformation.
  • Major exposure on how to price, sell, and package Core, OSS, BSS, and End-to-End Solutions.
  • C-Suite-level consultative selling skills.
  • Domain knowledge from the customer's point of view.
This role reports to the VP of Mission Critical Systems.
