Merged forces, Castle Metals and Banner Industries, a global leader in the metals distribution space, isseeking a Network Administrator to join the Oak Brook team Carol Stream team.

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for daily administration of Active Directory, Office 365, Windows server, Windows 10 desktops/Laptops, and User support for level 2 escalations. Assists in maintaining Cisco switches, SD-WAN, VMware virtualization and day-to-day operations of LAN and WAN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (performs other duties as assigned):

  • Provide support for business level systems, including Microsoft Windows Server, Workstation, Active Directory, Virtualization, SD WAN, Cisco switches.
  • Maintain, and monitor Active Directory environment, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Create and configure Group policy to manage server, workstation and end user desktops.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Lead and manage desktop deployments using SCCM to workstation and laptop environments.
  • Assist in package creation, software deployment, windows patching using enterprise deployment systems.
  • Assist in managing Office 365 email environment, including new user creation and licensing.
  • Install, maintain computer network equipment, including servers, workstations, 3rd party software.
  • Manage virtual machines, including VMware ESX Hosts.
  • Upgrade systems by working with vendors, developing, testing, evaluating, and installation.
  • Install, configure and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment including routers, switches, and UPS.
  • Lead and manage small scale projects, related to Windows desktops and Windows Servers.
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot system problems.
  • Manage backup environment, including software, hardware, backup jobs and restores.
  • Assist with maintenance of Unified Communications, VOIP phone system and related equipment.
  • Provide level 2 network support to end users.
  • Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.
  • Order software, hardware and other supplies as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotation including off-hours and weekends. Some after-hours work will be required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of networking experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Operational knowledge of network and routing protocols, DHCP, DNS.
  • Operational knowledge of Active directory, Windows server and Windows client.
  • Operational knowledge of Cisco switch configuration.
  • Ability to install software and hardware on networking equipment and perform upgrades.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on servers, computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Project.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and alerting using industry standard tools and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write operational procedures and documentation.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of users and management within an organization.
  • Ability and desire to work as a member of a team.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Broad IT knowledge in areas of systems management and risk management

  • General office environment (keyboard, mouse, telephone use)
  • Manual dexterity (grasp, hand/wrist movement)
