Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Engineers for our Specialty Rolled Product business unit. These positions report to the Manager, Technology and will have office location at our Washington, PA facility.

Essential Functions

  • Accountability & Ownership of assigned products from inquiry through shipment.
  • Learn and become an expert in all facets of assigned products. This includes flow path, manufacturing set ups and controls, specifications, technical characteristics and customer requirements.
  • Develop, Document and Implement manufacturing, customer and product trials to continuously improve product attributes, tighten tolerances or reduce cost and flow time.
  • Interface with customer to improve product, resolve issues and grow our business.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new grades/products or alterations of existing grades to meet new customer business specifications and opportunities.
  • Review customer inquiries to determine capabilities of assigned products to meet the requirements then design and implement a flow path to do this.
  • Work with the Marketing & Sales to evaluate new customer opportunities and then develop a cost competitive method to manufacture the material and win the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Materials or Chemical Engineering is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Nickel Alloys, Specialty Stainless grades in coil and/or plate product forms
  • Process knowledge of melting, hot working, and finishing metals.
