Debevoise is committed to hiring dedicated and talented individuals as members of our professional services functions. We are currently seeking an Associate Director of Enterprise Applications to join our technology team. The Associate Director of Enterprise Applications is an experienced IT leader who provides technical leadership and direction, delivering a modern suite of applications to support our lawyers in delivery of legal services to clients. The Associate Director reports to the Chief Information Officer and oversees the Application Engineering team to ensure the selection, delivery, stability and performance of industry leading applications. The Associate Director interfaces with the firm’s legal practice groups and professional staff to understand evolving requirements and, keeps abreast of and recommends relevant emerging technologies. The Associate Director works closely with the Business Applications, Technology Infrastructure, Information Security, Technology Support and IT Project Management teams to develop and implement strategies and solutions. This hybrid position is based in the firm’s New York offices in Hudson Yards.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of a modern suite of software tools to support the delivery of legal services to clients
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to optimally configure enterprise software, including MS Office and legal add-in products, PDF, document management software, collaboration tools as well as specialized applications for practices and individual users
  • Set and uphold firm standards for maintaining stability and performance of applications
  • Seek out, evaluate and propose enhancements, updates and new software solutions
  • Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8+ years of experience in delivering and supporting enterprise applications in a law firm or professional services organization
  • Expertise in MS-Office Suite and legal industry add-ins, collaboration platforms and document management systems
  • Demonstrable experience leading successful large-scale migration(s) to M365 and hosted document management system(s)
  • Experience and understanding of user identity and application security models; securely integrating disparate systems
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with lawyers and staff at all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline highly desirable
