Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Commercial Warehouse Worker I is responsible for receiving, palletizing, vaulting, storing, staging pulls, and distributing goods, materials, equipment, and products within Corovan's commercial warehouses, to fulfill commercial storage work orders. They are accountable for organizing incoming stock, labeling outgoing parcels, and loading orders onto trucks and shipping containers.

Primary job function requires exceptional customer focus while collaborating with their team to manage the company's operations and complete workflows on time.

This position is also responsible for reporting and escalating any issues to their manager. Typically reports to the Warehouse Manager but may be given direction from other departments.

This position is an entry-level position. This position may participate in weekly team training. This position is also responsible for reporting and escalating any issues to their manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Duties:

  • Loads and unloads trucks with loose, boxed, or palletized goods.
  • Inspects goods for damage and verifies complete orders.
  • Palletizes and/or un-palletizes goods.
  • Vaults and/or un-vaults goods.
  • Pads, stretch-wraps and protects goods prior to placement in storage to prevent damage.
  • Places and pulls goods throughout the warehouse via the use of a pallet jack, forklift, order picker or moving equipment.
  • Enters and updates inventory information through the use of handheld scanning equipment and interface with warehouse inventory management system.
  • Meets or exceeds Corovan commercial productivity standards for pieces per hour, pallets per hour, pieces on pallets per hour and hours per vault inbound and outbound.
  • Must be able to fill out paperwork completely including but not limited to warehouse work orders, activity sheets, OS&D's timesheets & work order timesheets.
  • Must be able to fully complete work orders, inbounds, outbounds, accesses, and cross docks.
  • Must finish his/her current job/work order before starting on another one, unless directed by supervisor or warehouse manager.
  • Must coordinate with supervisor for daily tasks.
  • Ability to accurately document all movement and or changes in inventory through the use of a handheld scanning device and interface with the warehouse asset management system.
  • Become proficient on the company's chosen Contact Management Software (CMS) and Order Entry System.

Customer Relations:

* Must follow all confidentiality rules regarding customer information.

* Assist with client inquiries and answers client questions with regards to payment history/balance, account updates and customer service issues.

* Uses a high level of professionalism in verbal and e-mail communication, always seeking to be helpful, to focus on problem solving and arriving at a win-win interaction.

* Maintain excellent customer service with the customers to establish solid relationships.

* If needed, Handle customer complaints in a timely manner and escalate any pertinent matters to their manager.

* Promote Corovan's Mission and Vision Statements.

* Must be courteous, helpful, and professional to all existing and potential customers, by interacting with customers in person and via telephone, fax, and email to ensure complete customer satisfaction in all matters related to the operation.

* Maintain excellent customer service with the customers, vendors, sales, transportation, and operation teams to establish solid relationships.

Training:

* Participates in ongoing training and may assist with training of new employees through cross-functional collaboration between locations.

* Participate and may lead Six Sigma projects, as required to improve processes and efficiencies.

* Promote Corovan's Mission and Vision Statements.

* Continuously promotes compliance with company policies and procedures.

Safety:

* Ensure the highest standards of safety, productivity and customer service are exceedingly daily.

Other Duties:

* If hourly, adhere to meal and rest periods per Company policy.

* Other duties to meet business needs and requirements as assigned.

* Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effect.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

* High School Diploma or GED.

* Minimum 1 years' experience in working in a warehouse or operating a forklift.

* Proficient MS Excel knowledge.

* Proficient in MS Office applications.

* Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

* Forklift certification required within six months of hire.

* Valid California driver's license and driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier requirements.

Preferred:

* Forklift Certification.

* Service industry experience highly desirable.

* Experience with process improvement teams.

PRIMARY LOCATION:

Orange County.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Walking: May require walking primarily on a level surface but may include walking on uneven or inclined surfaces for lengthy periods throughout the day, often up and down stairs.

  3. Lifting: Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 75 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 150 pounds throughout the day. Pushing or pulling assignment may need to be done with inclines. May also include climbing or descending stairs while carrying goods up to 50 pounds.
  4. Reaching: Extend hands and arms in any direction, reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required.
  5. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

2. Noise: Works in office, warehouse or outside environment, with constant or intermittent noise.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

1. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

2. Employees may be required to work late evenings or weekends depending on the business needs.

3. All Overtime must be approved by manager before working.

TRAVEL:

May be required to travel to other company and/or customer sites.
