Position Description:

We are looking for an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Construction team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil and/or construction engineering and a valid driver's license. MDOT experience is highly preferred. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to work well with others.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Interpret project plans and specifications
  • Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
  • Conduct field or laboratory material test
  • Maintain project files and record drawings
  • Prepare construction reports
  • Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
  • Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
  • Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
  • Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
  • Monitor task budget and progress
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Assist Project Managers
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering
Skills/Experience:
  • 0 to 4 years of related experience
  • A valid driver's license required
  • MDOT experience is highly preferred
